I am very thankful you because you introduced
this book to me. It is very interesting and helpful.
I am really love this book. I very admire Helen Keller
because she overcame all of difficult things to do every
things that she wanted. I learn a lot of things from her.
There are brave, perseverance, confidence, enthusiasm and kindness.

Book: Emil and the Detectives

The book talk about Emil a child who's travelling alone to
his grand mother's house in the city. He's carrying money 60 pound to her grandmother from his mother.

Then he felt asleep on the train and a man MR. Green stole his money.When emile wake up the money was disappear.

Also emil can swear that he was the man with the black hat that take his money and so decide to follow the thief and an exciting adventure begins lots of detectives,lift boy,a fight in a bank and the reporters.

After that the policeman found the finger prints of Mr.Green in the criminal record.

Mr.Green was wanted a long time ago for robbery.

Therefore the police promised to reward the person who found the thief with a amount of 50 pounds. Emil receive the money.

In addition,all the familly was very proud of emil and decide to invite all the detectivse for the tea and emil mother also for a party to celebarte that.

How I Met Myself (Report by Hoss)

Good morning sir, here is my summary ^_^

The name of the book is " How I Met Myself "
It's very interesting story I have ever read .
It talks about a man , the man saw someone
looks like him in the street and that guy said
"help help" and left. The man researched and asked
about the old stories that in the past on the street,
and the man got the answered from old woman
who lived in flat near the street. That guy who
asked for the help was the man's Doppelganger
( A German word which is used in English.
It means something like " double-walker "
or "double-goer " - a ghostly double of a living
person , who comes to give messages about danger
or to offer advice. It can only be seen by its :
owner" ). HOSS (*_~)

The first is Oliver Twist. I read it by Vietnamese's translation
when I was in high school. I thought the English book was better.
There were new words I don't know, but I can predicted.
Sometimes I used dictionary to translate to Vietnamese.

The second was a comic book. It said about the student.
I don't remember the name of book, because it was boring.

The third was Just a good friend. There was some new words in this book.
It was easy to reading. When I read this book, I realized I shouldn't
translate from English to Vietnamese. I must read and understand the
book by English, and I will.

The last book was a Serises'story. I read the author's introduction, he
said end of book was unhappy. So I will change other book. I like read a
book with the end happiness.

How I Met Myself (report by Iles)

I chose this book because I liked the title "How i Met Myself". It sounded like a fascinating book to read. The beginning of the story was very exiting, John Taylor a British man who lives and works in Budapest was in his home way in a cold evening, suddenly he was been hit by a man who was running to his direction, the strange man stopped running just for saying sorry, by seeing his face, John was surprised! It was him, he saw himself, the strange man absolutely looked like him!!! Why did this happen to John??? Indeed, this question pushed me to read all the 70pages in one night !

The Road Ahead (Report by Alen Kim)

The Road Ahead by Bill Gates After I read ‘The road ahead’, I was impressed. I know why Bill gates is famous for., but I didn’t know the details. The book described bill gates lifefrom childhood until now. Also, the book shows Bill gates’ thought and passion.

He is not just a businessman. He has his own philosophy. Microsoft has made his great philosophy. Microsoft was not made by accidently. It was made byBill gates and his colleague
for their effort. He was lucky. His friends gave him a lot of help.
Like bill gates, I have to think deeply and behavior immediately.

Anne of Green Gables (Raissa Coulibaly)

      The book I have been reading is named Anne of Green Gables.
It was retold from the Lucy Maud Montgomery original. This book talks about
“Anne” a little orphan girl with red hair who has arrived accidently in
“Matthew Cuthbert” and “Marilla Cuthbert” life.
That girl who talk too much and want to know all about everything and
everybody, had change Mathew and Marilla Cuthbert life.
Communicate to them her love of life, her spontaneity and her joy.

     For me that girl represent the hope of a better life a different life. Even
if Marilla would not have an orphan in her house, even if Matthew has hoped
an orphan boy, the destiny has put “Anne” on her way and unconsciously they
have begun to love her.

    I don’t have finish reading this book because It has beginning  annoying me
but I think that it’s not a bad book it’s just that it’s a book for children.
And I don’t have the habit to read this kind of books. 
                                                             

Food

Title: FOOD by Anne Schraff (Report by Stephen--S.T.)

Two weeks ago, I picked up a book without special reasons in ELI library when my reading teacher, Mr. Clint Taylor, asked his students to choose what they want to read.

Its title was “FOOD”. At first I started it without interest because of just homework, but I fell in reading it soon. The book, named FOOD, had very interesting contents as the expression of its front cover, “eXtreme CUSTOM SERIES”.

It introduced what various cultural or regional people have eaten, and I got a shock about their cookers such as mice and insects because they felt strange to me. But I could understand that everybody needed food, and it was differently developed by each country. Also it was same reason why people of another country could think my favorite food from Korea strange.

Although it was not that I could perfectly understand all of the book, and it did not introduce my country’s food, I thought that the book was valuable to read through the history and various kinds of food.

The Beatles

I read a book about the Beatles. The book explained from the start to the end of the band.
Also I could know about the members's private life such as their birth, love and death through it.
I love the beatles's songs. Especially Yesterday, Across The Univers, Norwegian Wood and I Will.
Because the songs have simple melodies but something that is special and captivating.
Now two members already died and the others are alive but very old, however,
the Beatles is still very famous all around the world.
Although they can't play together again, I'll remember them and enjoy their songs forever.

How's The weather ?

I read the book How's The weather? It was very interesting,
it tell us about Earth's atmosphere and the weather conditions that occur there.
There is a complex relation ship between water ,
air and heat from the sun what cause the change of the weather .
And also how the scientists can often forecast tomorrow's weather.
How the weather will be in the next day ,to know for
example what we need to wear and we can also use barometers to do that.

Double Cross

This week i read a book named double cross. I don't like this title. I find this word's meaning in the internet, but i find that this word has a bad meaning to good friend. I like this hero's experience，actually I envy her.

My dream is to travel around world，I want understand every country‘s cultures and famous place. I like eating delicious food around world. by Xin

Fashion

This week, I read “ Fashion ” . The book was talking about 100 years wore any fashion things, and any country wore to belong this country’s traditional clothes. For example: A Maori man in tribal dress and Prehistoric people usually had very simple clothing. I think that everything old can be new again. (Mr. Huang)

Just Good Friends

I read a book which named 'Just Good Friends' . I like this book,because it is not only short and easy to read, but also it give me a good opinion to choose friends. I think a couple of good friend must help each other when one have a trouble. we can have many friends, but the friends must kind and generous. {Xin}

Q5. The most interesting part

of the story was when she was describing what she saw. Because I felt deep emotion when I read this part.
Q3. The character I liked best was Anne Sullivan. I think that Sullivan turn an impossibility into a possibility. If she did not exist, Helen Keller did not overcome her trouble.

2.Food
Q1. I think the author wrote this book because she wanted the reader to know about food. She wrote the variety of food. Many various food exist in the world. In this book, there are many information that I didn’t know. Several food like snails aroused my curiosity.
Q5. The most interesting part of the story was when I read chapter 10. Chapter 10 is “food in the United States” Because Americans come from so many different cultures, people in the United States can buy almost any kind of food they want. In addition, I meet with American food in Texas these days. So, I am very interested in American food.

3.Star Wars
Q3. The character I liked best was Anakin because he was so nice. He is so good looking man. I like him. In his another movie, I already fell in love with him. In this book, character Anakin was very brave. I like heroes in every books and movies.
Q8. This book is just alike the movie. I think that the movie is better than this book. Because this book was so boring. If I read the book in advance, This book won’t bore. I felt as if I watch movie twice.

4.Tattoos
Q17. The chapter 8 confused me. Persons in prison have their own tradition of tattoos. And long time ago, soldiers had tattoos such as “Death before dishonor” and “Semper fi” which means “Always faithful”. I had thought that only wrong persons tattoo. However, this book showed many various people who have tattoos. So, I’m very confused.
Q12. Epidermis-The outer layer of skin / Irezumi-A Japanese style of tattooing, covering the upper body, arms, and upper legs. / Dermis-The layer of shin under the epidermis. / Hepatitis-A serious disease that affects the body’s liver.

5.Fashion
Q06. I dislike this book because I already knew this story. The content of this book isn’t new to me. I think that other people also think like me. This book just describes that we know. The main contents are the something shocking, sometimes funny, and occasionally unbelievable fishing that were popular in other times and places.
Q9. I think that this book need something. Something are new contents we didn’t know that. In addition, this book need details of various styles and examples of various styles. If I make this book again, I put many pictures of various styles in this book contents.

Food

This week, I read “Food”, and this book was about what kind people of country to eat special food. Maybe this food belongs to this country like that in Thailand, a popular item is jackfruit. So we can know any country to eat any food. Maybe the food is terrible for you. (Mr. Huang)

A governess and Mrs Grose are protecting Miles and Flora away from the ghosts. Because the ghosts made the children to become bad.

But in the end of this story, I don’t understand it. “Why did Miles’ heart stop?"

Mr.Hannay was involved in Scudder’s serious problem after Scudder was murdered. Scudder’s enemies chased Hannay to kill him because Scudder may be tell him about a secret plan-a group in Europe wanted the worth in war so that they make money. German and Russia is goal of them. A black notebook is only clue which Scudder put into Hannay’s tobacco secret. “Thirty-nine steps”-implies a harbor that group left England and go to London to kill The Greek Prime Minister who can stop war. I just have read book which named ''How I Met Myself.'' I think this is a good title for this book. At first I just thought this title is strange, so I chose it. After reading, I found that I had the same experience with author. I have seen a person as same as me. Although only in a dream, but it looked real. I like this book.
